One of our favourite spots in Aotearoa was a little shy when we visited this long weekend.

Until we drove a little farther west.

On the way back to Dunedin, after leaving Mossburn where we were staying – “What?! I’ve never heard of anyone staying in Mossburn!” my brother exclaimed when he heard that’s where we had holed up for the weekend – we were able to get a great view of the mountains / maunga my whanau affiliates to – the Takitimu range.

Mossburn gets our vote for a good place to stay, despite naysayer bros. This weekend was sunny and still. Heavy overnight frosts soon melted in the clear-sky sunshine. It was a celebration of Aoteraoa / New Zealand reaching Level Two. Within days we will be going into Level One where life will be pretty much back to normal – albeit in post-covid recovery and no overseas visitors for quite some time. All the more reason for us kiwis to get out and see our country and support businesses reliant on the tourist trade.
