on my walk around the inlet yesterday I was struck by the restfulness

nana nap

midday snooze

chillin’ and millin’

what’s the collective noun for oyster catchers? I asked Siri and in her Irish accent she told me it was a parcel of, or a Rockerfeller of, or a stew of

I rather like the idea of a Rockerfeller of oyster catchers happily hanging out, snoozing and generally staying put

Was all this lethargy due to the time of day or tide? 1.30-ish in the afternoon, with the tide coming in

  1. Uniquely (I suspect) amongst birders I nominate the oystercatcher as my favourite bird. My collective noun would be “an elegance of oystercatchers”, but of course I’m biased! 🙂
