Poetry in Milton

Poetry reading on Saturday afternoon

Looking forward to being on the road again with my friend and poet Jenny Powell.

Milton is a town I often drive through on my way south to visit family and friends. This time I get to stop off with Jenny and meet and mingle with the locals.

We were delighted to learn that this small town had a writing group that meets regularly, so approached them with the idea for a poetry reading event where we could read our poetry and hear their’s.

Of course the very name of the town alone makes one think of poetry. The early settlers there must have thought so too as a lot of the streets are named after writers. Shakespeare Street and Chaucer Street for example.

Expect a report next week on how it all went .

Moeraki

Meanwhile … Robert and I are enjoying a stay in Moeraki village. Today is our 47th wedding anniversary.
