Window Shopping Pays Off

The book is called, ‘Craggan Dhu: Time Will Tell’ (by Kay McKenzie Cooke) published by Parrot Doorstop Press and available to buy on Amazon. (Kindle version and paperback.)

The hot-pink lilies my daughter gave me for Mothers Day, have all fully opened and look resplendent. The perfume reminds me of Christmas, which for a nano second confuses me every time I get a whiff.

Meanwhile the orchid my son gave me, remains quietly stunning. So calm, patient and peaceful. (I’m terrified I’ll kill it, it looks so fragile. I keep checking its temperature, watching out for signs … It appears pandemics breed paranoia.)

I often see these two black-and-white dogs waiting at their owner’s gate, quietly, patiently, dolefully. Patience personified (dog-ified?) I call them Og and Magog. They put me in mind of the old-fashioned, china dogs that come in pairs – possibly now only available on Etsy.

This pink handbag was calling my name every time I walked past it in the shop window of Simply Flowers in Musselburgh Rise. I decided that come Level Two when the shop re-opened, I would buy it.

Which I did. Here ’tis.

It is a gift from me, for me. To celebrate both Aotearoa / New Zealand reaching Level Two and no new Covid cases for three days in a row, PLUS … Ta-da … the release of my novel from the stall into the circle.

  1. So much wonderfulness.. the pink handbag’s like it was custom made for you! I confess I’ve never yet bought anything through Amazon. Is your book available to buy already? Can it be bought in NZ? Apologies for Question bombardment!
